On the eve of its 40th anniversary this June, Independent Publishers Group is rebranding with a new logo. The new logo was chosen to better reflect IPG's forward-thinking attitude and success in distributing content in various forms and to various markets, including increased market penetration in the gift market and specialty retail and wholesale accounts.
Departing from a stylized image of a print book, which IPG has held since 2000, its new logo better reflects its forward-thinking attitude and success in distributing content in various forms and to various markets, including increased market penetration in the gift market and specialty retail and wholesale accounts.
Says IPG President Mark Suchomel, “Our old logo did not accurately portray us as the technologically-savvy distribution, sales, and marketing company we have become over the last several years. The new logo better positions us as a collaborative publishing partner that can help our clients and accounts best take advantage of the changing industry.”
The logo was designed by SX2, a leading design and corporate branding consultancy.
As part of its rebranding efforts, IPG will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with a birthday party at BookExpo America. Stop by its booth, #2738, on Wednesday, May 25th at 3:30 p.m. ET to participate in the festivities and to check out IPG’s new image. In the coming weeks, IPG will also launch a makeover of its corporate web site, www.ipgbook.com.
Established in 1971, IPG was the first organization specifically created for the purpose of marketing titles from independent presses to the book trade. With consistent growth each year, IPG’s success has come from supporting and encouraging the growth of its client publishers in the United States and worldwide. IPG has a wide reach in the market with its distribution of publishers with academic, Spanish-language, computer and general trade nonfiction and fiction titles. IPG was acquired by Chicago Review Press in 1987. Clients include publishers from the United States, Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Israel, Spain and other countries. In the fall of 2006, the senior management of Chicago Review Press, Inc., the parent company of IPG, bought Trafalgar Square Publishing, Inc., the leading U.S. distributor of UK publishers. Trafalgar Square Publishing distributes for UK and Australian clients such as Allen & Unwin, Aurum Press, Canongate UK, HarperCollins UK, Hodder & Stoughton, Headline, Orion Publishing, Random House UK, Random House AUS and Simon & Schuster UK.
