Chicago Review Press publishes general nonfiction on a wide range of subjects including music, film, pop culture, history, feminism, LGBTQ+ interest, true crime, and outdoor and nature. We publish quality books by expert authors on topics people are passionate about. Our books often share an independent spirit that’s a little quirky and sometimes controversial. We like to give voice to those who have been marginalized, as in Never Silent: ACT UP and My Life in Activism and You’re the Only One I’ve Told: The Stories Behind Abortion. We are always looking for books that provide valuable new information or a fresh take on a subject, such as Overdue: Reckoning with the Public Library, Boys Enter the House, and Grandma Gatewood’s Walk. Books on music and pop culture are central to our list, such as Have a Little Faith: The John Hiatt Story, and books with a strong outdoor and nature component have been perennial bestsellers for us, including Outwitting Squirrels and Outdoor Survival Skills.
