After a slight hiatus, we’re back this week with another Staff Reads. Check what we’re currently reading below! #CRPreads
My Fourth of July weekend read was The Girl Who Drank the Moon, a gorgeous middle grade novel that had been a happy ALA purchase. Following suit of a few other staff reads recommendations, I’ve also started listening to Elena Ferranti’s My Brilliant Friend. —Ashley Alfirevic, publicity associate
After binge-watching the show, I’m reading Liane Moriarty’s Big Little Lies. Can’t wait to see how the book and show compare! (And I’m delighted to have the excellent credit music stuck in my head for the foreseeable future.) —Ellen Hornor, project editor
I picked up the ARC for Annie Spence’s Dear Fahrenheit 451: Love and Heartbreak in the Stacks at ALA and I really love Spence’s writing style. It’s conversational, as a letter should be, and funny and snarky and from the heart. She’s the kind of librarian that I’ve met at the public library, who are my friends (and oh the long e-mail and text and group messaging we do over the books we love and hate), and who I get to meet when I’m at the booth during a library conference. This book is a love letter to books—even if they’re books that Spence hates. —Mary Kravenas, marketing manager
I just finished The Forever War and I have to ask how has this not been turned into a movie yet? Now I’m trying to figure out what to read next and I’m thinking of going with The Unbearable Lightness of Being. —Emily Lewis, editorial and marketing assistant
