Stephanie Rose Bird is the author of "Sticks, Stones, Roots and Bones: Hoodoo, Mojo and Conjuring with Herbs," "Four Seasons of Mojo," "The Big Book of Soul," "A Healing Grove" and "Light, Bright and Damned Near White: Biracial and Tri-racial Culture in America." After having published five nonfiction books she is working on two novels in fantasy and magical realism simultaneously. Bird lives in the Chicago area with her biracial and bicultural flock, consisting of two birds, her soul mate, a very cute little dog and a super chill kitty as well as four beautiful and bright kids, some of which have left the nest.
